The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster they really push the boundaries of Leo Fenders vision.
The sort for lightweight Ash body is finished in a vibrant Nocaster Blonde Deluxe Closet Classic nitro lacquer. This finely aged finish treatment imparts the look of a guitar owned with pride, well cared for and religiously polished over many years. Moderate finish checking and hardware oxidisation, along with mild parts discolouration, combine into the distinct look and feel of an instrument that has evolved into something complex and refined, like a fine wine.
The Rift Sawn Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 7.25”-9.50″ radius and narrow tall frets, the ’52 Telecaster features a 57 Style Soft V profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele’ twang. Loaded with a pair of hand wound 50-51 Blackguard pickups you certainly get that famous Tele’ tone.
The original ’52 Tele’s are the stuff of legend, a real collector’s piece. The Fender Custom Shop 1952 Tele, well that’s a player’s guitar!
